Breast Implants

Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast Enlargement Surgery | Breast Implants | Breast Augmentation

Do you want to restore your breast volume that you lost after weight reduction or pregnancy or want to achieve a more rounded breast shape or improve your natural breast size asymmetry? Breast implants are your ideal choice for boosting your body confidence and to feel comfortable with the size and shape of your breasts.

Who is a good candidate?

A breast reduction procedure involves reducing the amount of breast tissue whilst uplifting the breast tissue at the same time. In order to achieve the desired outcome there may be a need to reposition the nipple and areola to give the breasts a natural appearance. Breast reduction surgery usually takes 3-6 hours to complete, depending on the size of your breasts. The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic, and you will need to stay in hospital for one or two nights.

Recovery From Breast Reduction Surgery?

Following breast reduction surgery, you will need to take one or two weeks off work, avoiding heavy exercise for several weeks. You will be required to wear a supportive bra (eg a sports bra) for up to 3 months, day and night to keep the breasts well supported whilst healing takes place and ultimately to give you the best possible results..

Mastopexy

There comes a day in every woman’s life when she notices that her breasts are no longer as pert and firm as they used to be. Breast uplift surgery can help women who are satisfied with the size of their chest, but would like to raise and add firmness to their breasts. Breast uplift surgery (Mastopexy) could be the right choice for you if you have one or more of the following conditions:

  • You are physically healthy
  • Aren't pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have realistic expectations from the procedure
  • Have fully developed breasts
  • You are dissatisfied with your breasts
  • Your breasts are asymmetrical
  • One or both breasts is not developed normally

Types of implants:

Saline implants:

  • They are filled with sterile salt water and provide a uniform shape and firmness
  • These are approved for augmentation in women aged 18 or older.
  • Also, if the implant leak, the shell will collapse and the saline will be absorbed and naturally expelled by the body.

Silicone breast implants:

  • They are filled with silicone gel which feels a bit more like the natural breast tissue
  • If you choose silicone implants, you may need to visit your plastic surgeon regularly to make sure the implants are functioning properly.
  • These are approved for augmentation in women age 22 or older.
  • Also, if the implant leaks, the gel will either remain within the implant shell, or may escape into the breast implant pocket. Silicone implants will not collapse.
